Meet our Vitality Big Half Marathon Runners

Meet the runners taking on the Vitality Big Half Marathon in aid of St Mark’s!

The Vitality Big Half  is London’s community running festival. The half marathon starts at 09:00 by Tower Bridge and finishes at the Cutty Sark, passing through the boroughs of Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Lewisham and Greenwich.

This year, we have 3 awesome runners taking on this challenge on Sunday 1st March.

Michael

Michael

Michael’s taking on the Vitality Big Half to say thanks for the care his wife has received as a patient of St Mark’s Hospital. He has previously completed both the London Marathon and Royal Parks Half Marathon for the Foundation. Michael has self-funded on this occasion and we thank him for his generous donation.

Meir is a surgeon from The Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center in Israel. He has come to St Marks Hospital as part of his yearly  fellowship in Colorectal Surgery.

”For me, St Marks Hospital represents a place of excellence in the field of colorectal surgery and research. I participate in daily multidisciplinary team meeting, surgeries and research as an honorary clinical fellow. I am learning new surgical techniques and discovering new technologies and I will be able integrate these skills when I return back home.”
