Martin’s Marathon

Martin took on the Virgin Money London Marathon this week in aid of St Mark’s Hospital Foundation

He’s been training for this challenge for the last 2 years, and finished in a fantastic 3 hours 22 minutes and 55 seconds!

Here’s a message from Martin to everyone that supported and donated:

Hi everyone,

Well I finally achieved the enormous challenge of running 26.2 miles/42.2 km, going through all sorts of emotions, seeing friends and family along the route kept me going and lifted my spirits. The atmosphere at The London Marathon was amazing with every person running for a special cause close to their heart.
St Mark’s Hospital Foundation is the very special charity I ran for. I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for your extremely generous donations which I’m sure will make a big difference in the research and eventual cure of bowel disease. Thinking of you all spurred me on all the way to the finish line!

Thank you again,

Martin xx

A huge thank you from everyone at St Mark’s to Martin, for his efforts to raise awareness of bowel disease, and funds for medical research and education here at St Mark’s Hospital.
